What is Microblading?
Microblading, is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup and tattooing. Unlike permanent makeup, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent. Microblading is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Since color is impacted closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow that can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on different factors affecting the procedure such as skin type and skin care routine.
What Are The Risks?
Microblading is considered a tattoo, and the same risks apply; allergic reaction and infection are possible. Allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, however it does happen. A safe sanitized environment is provided using sterilized equipment and new disposable needles to help eliminate infection possibilities. Also, by closely following the pre and post care procedures, there should be minimal risks or complications. A patch test is suggested for individuals who have high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to: hair dyes, makeup products and jewelry containing gold, silver or nickel. Patch tests can be done during the consultation session and should be performed 5-7 days prior.
Consultation Session?
A consultation session is required and will take roughly 30-45 minutes.
As with all cosmetic, permanent makeup, tattooing and microblading procedures you should not make your choice lightly.
A consultation session will allow you to fully understand the procedure and to find out if you are a suitable candidate.
The consultation fee is $25.00. It must be paid upfront, before the session and is non-refundable if you decide not to have the procedure.
How Long Will The Procedure Take?
Usually the first session should take roughly 2 - 2.5 hours.
The second session will be scheduled 4 - 6 weeks after the first session and takes approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to complete.
Is The Second Session Really Needed?
It is advised but not required! The second session is simply touch up, refining and refill. Not everyone heals the same, not everyone has the same type of skin (dry, oily, etc) and there is the possibility that an area did not take the pigment during the first session. Adjustments are made during the second session; such as adding more strokes or brow thickness.
Can I Get My Second Session Sooner?
No! It's blunt, but to prevent scarring you must allow time to heal. This time is also critical because it allows the pigment to completely settle into the skin.
How Long Does It Take To Heal?
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You may notice the color is very light, if not completely invisible around two weeks into healing, the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it, this is normal. This is common with any tattooing procedure. This happens because the tissue is still healing from the inside out; even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed.
Will It Hurt?
Mild to no pain. Before the procedure a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine. After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. It may feel similar to a mild sunburn. Tylenol may be taken if needed; DO NOT take aspirin or ibuprofen.
How Long Does It Last?
Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade over time. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid will fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months.

I, as a professional nail technician, am well aware of breakage, overuse, poor product, improper application and the like. We as women do many things with our hands as we are very active people. Without realizing it we use our fingers/nails excessively throughout the day, putting excessive pressure on them. We bang them, we jam them, we use them as tools and then some have the destructive habit of picking and biting at them.
I can only follow the directions on my products for application, and I assure you I will always have your best interest at heart when it comes to using products that are the least harmful. That being said, to protect my clients, I have purposefully decided to use American made products; which are manufactured without the cancer producing hardening agent known as MMA. This however also means that your artificial enhancements are not going to be as hard as the product put on your hands in other nail salons.
I hope you know, and even feel by the way I service your hands and feet, that I care for you and appreciate your patronage.
Thank you,
Nail Repair Policy
